About all of this...

I'm setting up this blog so all of you who I teach at ELIHE can catch up with stuff should you miss it or don't get it the first time round.

I will normally update this every weekend, so please be patient if stuff doesn't appear immediately!

All About Marion...
Here's a bit about me.

I started out on my artistic career at Blackburn College on the BTEC Foundation course. I originally specialised in textile art (textiles in a fine art context).
I soon switched to painting, and subsequently gained a BA(Hons) Fine Art: Painting (2:1) at the University of Wolverhampton, before moving down to London to study at Camberwell College of Arts.
I studied Printmaking there, gaining a Distinction in the subject at Masters level. During this course I had my first encounters with Apple Macintosh computers. I then had the opportunity to study for another MA, this time in Book Arts. My final project was an interactive CD-ROM, although I learnt traditional bookbinding techniques (which I still use to this day!)
Then poacher turned gamekeeper - I found myself working as both Mac technician and lecturer, not only at Camberwell, but also at the London College of Printing, Maidstone and Farnham, before settling at Wimbledon School of Art.
Tired of life in the rat race, I relocated back to Lancashire and got a job back at the place where it all began - Blackburn College.
I started as a Mac/graphic design technician, but have recently moved on to become a teaching facilitator, whilst retaining the role as Mac technician, with additional administrative responsibilities.
My teaching is varied - ranging from non-adhesive bookbinding to DVD authoring, on teaching programmes as varied as English language & literature, graphic/digital media design, and textile/interior design.
I'm currently studying for a PCGE - this blog is the proposed subject of my action research project.
